Colloidal silver doesn't actually "boost the immune system". It acts like an antimicrobial, "disinfecting" various pathogens, thereby, taking the burden off of the immune system to deal with these pathogens.
Some people swear by it and treat it like a miracle cure (not unlike any other supplement or botanical on the market). And for others it does nothing.
To my knowledge, there are no side effects - neither long nor short-term. It is very safe to give to children.
Oral liquid is the preferred form that is left to dissolve under the tongue.
This is an antimicrobial that I do not use in my practice for no other reason than there are so many others that I use. However, coincidentally, I just starting using some in the past few days. I'm using a brand from Florida called "Soverign Silver" which appears to be one of the best. I'm just experimenting to see what it does for me.
Some people suggest that you can use Colloidal Silver for sterilizing a hot tub. No way. I certainly wouldn't trust the antimicrobial powers of this supplement to kill bacteria in a hot tub.
In short, there are many antimicrobial agents that are excellent to have on hand during the upcoming potential flu pandemic. This is one of them. How good is it compared to other antimicrobials? This depends on who you're talking to and their experience with it. There is certainly no harm in trying this supplement.
That's what I'm doing.
I haven't been sick in years. Hopefully, I'll get sick this winter so I can try out colloidal sliver too. :)
