Recharging with Qi Gong

Posted March 5, 2007, by KG

Qi gong is much more than an exercise routine for me.  Sure, it improves my flexibility and improves my muscle endurance, but it does so much more for me.

When I do it in the way I've described it in the recipe, - using visualization of white light, and listening to inspiring music, - no word of a lie, I really feel like I have an electrical cord that is plugged into the universal energy of all that is wonderful and good.  Have you ever stood at the base of a very powerful waterfall and felt the energy, freshness and aliveness of the rushing water?  That's how it feels when I do qi gong.

I just start smiling spontaneously.  No effort.  No focused concentration.  I just start exuding this incredible feeling of well-being on all levels.  Physcially, emotionally, and spiritually.  I feel limitless at that time.  Like everything and anything is possible.

The type of Qi gong I do is from the book "The Way of Energy" by Master Lam Kam Chuen.  I also use 2 of the moves from a cassette/video series called Spring Forest Qi gong in my daily routine.  It was by trial and error that I discovered what worked best for me.  I also attended a workshop with a master, while I learned lots, I didn't retain any of the postures or the movements from this workshop because they were not a fit for me.

After I finish doing my morning routine, I feel like I'm 20 again.  I am energized and ready to start my day with incredible vim and vigour.  I also have this spontaneous overwhelming feeling of gratitude when I finish.  I don't have to consciously think about being grateful.  It just comes flowing and pouring out.

Qi gong is about mobilizing energy.  My own energy in relationship with the universe.   During milliseconds of pure bliss, my own energy and the energy in the universe are one and the same.
