How-to: Water Piking

Posted February 21, 2007, by KG

Keeping teeth clean as you age becomes more and more challenging if you still have your own teeth. Water piking is the perfect solution.

Ingredients:

  • a waterpik
  • clean water
  • optional:  herbs like myrrh to help with gum health that is placed into a special additive container

Steps:

  1. Floss your teeth.
  2. Brush your teeth.
  3. Water pik your teeth and gums using the most comfortable speed setting for you.
  4. Aim the pik at your gum line on an angle pointing downward (for the top teeth) and at an angle pointing upward (for your bottom teeth).
  5. Use myrrh in your additive container if you are having problems with the health of your gums.

I agree with the larger point that keeping our teeth and gums clean and strong is a critical component of health.
